Ok: it’s about time I write about Rye Rye…
Long awaited, the album is finally here. After the excellent mixtape (RYEot powRR) and a few teaser videos (New thing, Shake it to the ground…) we can eventually listen to the full thing and it’s PRETTY BAD ASS!
I would define her first as “refreshing”. More than that we needed her. So much is happening these days in the pop/hip-hop/rap female world. Azealia, M.I.A is coming back soon after a pretty bad album. Now it’s Rye Rye turn to shine. “Young fresh and new” Kelis would say, and it’s true that her “milkshake is better than yours” - Listen to the hypnotic “Better than you” feat. MIA.
She couldn’t have chosen a better name for her album. Go! Pop! Bang! - that’s exactly what it feels. You see clubs, you see colors everywhere and crazy booty shakes.
